CW Guitar Audio Combo Amp Premium Speaker Cable
The CW Guitar Audio Combo Amp Premium Speaker Cable is made using our own MADE IN USA wire and high quality angled connectors from Switchcraft, G&H, or Neutrik. 14 AWG conductors means less resistance per foot therefore less signal loss. Speaker cables are often overlooked as things like shielding and handling noise are not an issue like with guitar cables but they play an important role in the reliability of your amplifier. Most off-the-shelf speaker cables use cheap plugs that in time can exhibit intermittent connection due to strain of the larger conductors breaking contact inside the plug. Speaker cables often supplied with your amp include cheap unreliable molded plugs(such as those found in all 1990’s-present Fender amps) that can lose connection internally and use cheap small diameter wire that can break connection as well. Either of these conditions can expose your output transformer to flyback voltage which will damage your transformer and power tubes in short order. This is the number one cause of blown output transformers in any amp. A quality speaker cable is cheap insurance to ensure reliability of your valuable amp. If you’re uncertain of the size you need, measure your pre-existing cable excluding any excessive length that may be rolled or zip tied together. You can also use a string from the center of your amp’s speaker output jack to the speaker tabs with appropriate slack to avoid strain or contact with tubes then measure the string with a tape measure. All CW Guitar Audio cables are measured true to size from the exit of the plug boot/barrel to the terminated end. Depending on your selected plug, the barrel/boot will add approx. 1-2 inches to the total cable length.
NOTE: The pre-tinned speaker termination option should only be installed by someone with a high level of solder skills as soldering large speaker wire requires higher heat while working quickly to avoid melting the insulation used in speaker wire. No warranty will be honored on pre-tinned assemblies that were damaged by excess heat at installation.
